The Governing Board of Toft Hill Primary School are seeking to appoint a dedicated and enthusiastic Wrap Around Care Assistant from 2nd September 2026. (The post is temporary with a view to becoming permanent.) This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and supportive team, providing high-quality care for pupils attending our breakfast club and after school provision. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where children can relax, play, and socialise outside of the school day. Key Duties and Responsibilities • Supervise and support pupils during wrap around care sessions • Assist in planning and delivering a range of fun, creative, and stimulating activities • Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and inclusion of all pupils • Support the preparation and serving of snacks in line with food hygiene standards • Promote positive behaviour in line with school policies • Maintain accurate registers and communicate effectively with parents/carers and staff • Contribute to a clean, safe, and organised environment. The Successful Candidate will: • Be a good communicator and have adequate English and maths skills • Have experience of working with children in a school or childcare setting • Be caring, patient, and enthusiastic • Demonstrate good communication and teamwork skills • Have an understanding of safeguarding and child protection • Be reliable, flexible, and committed to supporting children’s wellbeing It is desirable for the successful candidate to have a: • Childcare qualification (Level 2 or 3) • First Aid and/or Food Hygiene certificate. The ability to converse at ease with customers and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential for the post. This position is paid whole time with retainer adjustments applied to periods of school closure. You will not be required to work during the school closure periods however your salary in these periods will be adjusted accordingly in line with the retainer regulations as specified in the National Joint Council (NJC) Green Book agreement.
