With 13 global R&D and manufacturing sites, we support applications across gas treatment, renewable energy and advanced process control.We’re seeking a Research Scientist (PVD) to join our multi-disciplinary R&D team as we continue to grow and expand, contributing hands-on to the development of next-generation sensing technologies.The role:Hands-on research supporting sensor and measurement technology developmentDesign, deposition and characterisation of thin-film materialsCollaboration with engineering teams to translate research into new product developmentsTechnical reporting and knowledge sharing across the R&D functionIdentification of technical risks, including manufacturabilityProviding technical expertise and support to colleaguesEssential experience:Strong background in PVD techniques, including evaporation and sputteringElectron beam evaporation (e-beam) experience highly desirableThin-film characterisation and understanding of material properties in multilayer devicesExperience working with sensors and measurement systemsComfortable working in multi-disciplinary R&D environmentsQualifications:Master’s degree or PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science or PhysicsAbout you:Inquisitive, self-motivated and pragmaticComfortable solving complex technical problemsClear communicator with strong attention to detailEnjoys collaborative, hands-on research workIf you’re looking to apply your thin-film and PVD expertise to sensing challenges within a global manufacturing group, we’d love to hear from you.
