Milk Education is working in partnership with a forward-thinking secondary academy in Liverpool, L12 to recruit a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor. This is a full-time, long-term opportunity for someone passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.
The Role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with students who require additional behavioural and emotional support. You will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour, raising engagement levels, and helping pupils develop the skills needed to succeed both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
1. Provide 1:1 and small group mentoring for students with behavioural needs
2. Support pupils in managing emotions and developing self-regulation strategies
3. Build positive, professional relationships with students, staff, and families
4. Work collaboratively with the pastoral team and SENCO to implement behaviour plans
5. Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
6. Monitor and record student progress and behaviour interventions
The Ideal Candidate
7. Experience working with young people in a school, alternative provision, youth work, or similar setting
8. Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, consistent approach
9. Resilient, patient, and empathetic personality
10. Ability to build rapport and act as a positive role model
11. Team Teach training (desirable but not essential)
12. A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
