Overview
Postdoctoral Research Associate (Fixed Term) role at Cambridge Service Alliance. We are seeking a postdoctoral research associate with experience in human neuroimaging (fMRI and/or MEG) and advanced data analysis (multivariate classification and/or computational modelling) to carry out fundamental science research in the Woolgar lab. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with acquisition of fMRI and/or MEG data, strong coding and analysis skills including using multivariate pattern analysis, and knowledge of flexible cognition, top-down control, selective attention, and frontoparietal cortex. The post holder will work within the ongoing research programme in the lab, share technical, analysis, and conceptual knowledge with other lab members, and contribute to the positive research culture of the Woolgar lab and the wider University of Cambridge environment.
Responsibilities
* Carry out fundamental science research in human neuroimaging (fMRI and/or MEG) and advanced data analysis.
* Acquire fMRI and/or MEG data and contribute to analysis using multivariate pattern analysis and related techniques.
* Collaborate within the Woolgar lab and with the wider Cambridge research community; share technical, analytical, and conceptual knowledge.

* Experience in human neuroimaging (fMRI and/or MEG) and advanced data analysis (multivariate classification and/or computational modelling).
* Strong coding and analysis skills, including multivariate pattern analysis.
* Knowledge of flexible cognition, top-down control, selective attention, and frontoparietal cortex.

* Fixed-term position; funds available for 1 year from the start date.
* Anticipated start date: 01 February 2026 (or earlier if possible). Interviews expected mid-December.
* Salary progression contingent on PhD status: University Grade 5 as Research Assistant if PhD not yet awarded by January/February 2026 (starting at £34,610 per annum); upgraded to Grade 7 as Research Associate upon PhD award (starting at £37,694 in the first year, then £38,784 in year 2, and £39,906 in year 3).
