An exciting opportunity has arisen for a temporary 18.5 hours Finance Officer position until 31st December 2025. You will provide a high quality service to support key processes within Children & Young People’s Service, through the provision of effective business support, financial and administrative functions. WHATS INVOLVED Some of the duties and responsibilities for this post include: To have day to day responsibility for financial duties within the locality office, including petty cash and monthly reconciliations, administration connected with procurement cards, banking of income, liaison with CYPS Finance colleagues and, where necessary, issuing of cash to clients Provide an efficient and accurate finance support to social work teams across the County Accurately record and distribute finance payments in accordance with strict finance procedures Ensure correct documentation is received before distributing funds To liaise and prepare papers for finance panels and inform workers of the outcome of this panel Ensure documents and information are kept safe and secure in line with Data Protection and Caldicott requirements We encourage you to contact Caroline Wilson via email at caroline.wilsno@durham.gov.uk to arrange an informal discussion about the role. WHAT WILL I NEED? You should have a BTEC National Diploma in Public Admin, NVQ Business Administration Level 3 (or equivalent qualification). You will need to have excellent communication and numeracy skills as well as being able to work under pressure and have some experience of working in a busy office environment.
