Senior / Principal Geotechnical Engineer
We are supporting a growing engineering and environmental consultancy in the appointment of an experienced Geo-Environmental / Geotechnical Engineer. This role offers the opportunity to work across a varied project portfolio within a collaborative and supportive team.
The Role
You will be responsible for the delivery of a range of site investigation, geotechnical, and environmental projects, including:
Planning and managing ground investigations using a variety of techniques
Interpreting site data to support engineering design and development projects
Logging and sampling soils and groundwater in accordance with relevant standards
Supporting and delivering land quality and environmental assessments across multiple project stages
Developing site understanding and assessing potential risks
Preparing technical documentation and reports to a high standard
Supporting environmental and earthworks-related activities where required
Assisting with monitoring and interpretation of ground conditions
Ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental requirements
Liaising with clients, contractors, and internal teams to support project delivery
About You
Degree qualified in a relevant discipline (e.g. Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science)
Ideally working towards or holding a professional qualification
Experience within a geotechnical, geo-environmental, or site investigation role
Comfortable managing site-based activities and technical reporting
Good understanding of relevant guidance, standards, and best practice
Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Able to work both independently and as part of a wider team
Committed to continuous professional development
Full UK driving licence
