Role Overview: As the Mechanical Buyer, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing and procuring mechanical supplies and equipment for ongoing M&E projects. Working within a fast-paced environment, you will ensure the timely delivery of materials, manage supplier relationships, negotiate costs, and contribute to the overall efficiency of the supply chain. Key Responsibilities * Procure mechanical materials, components, and equipment for various M&E projects. * Evaluate supplier quotes and negotiate favourable pricing, lead times, and delivery terms. * Manage purchase orders from requisition through to delivery and invoice reconciliation. * Develop and maintain strong relationships with approved suppliers and seek out new sources where necessary. * Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site teams to forecast demand and align procurement activities with project timelines. * Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and company procurement policies. * Monitor market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and product innovations. * Resolve supply chain disruptions and proactively address delivery issues or shortages. * Maintain accurate procurement records and generate reports for internal analysis. * Support tender processes by providing cost estimates for mechanical materials. Requirements * Previous experience in purchasing within a mechanical, electrical, or construction environment. * Strong negotiation and communication skills. * Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite. * Knowledge of mechanical systems, components, and supplier markets. * Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a deadline-driven setting. * Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
