Contracting Solicitor

Our Office of the General Counsel advises on a wide variety of risk issues that arise in the delivery of professional services across the areas of assurance, tax, and advisory in which the firm operates.

A look into the role
We are looking to recruit a commercial contracts lawyer in our in-house legal team. In this role, you will:
1. Negotiate contracts with clients, including commercial MSAs and public-sector framework agreements, and advise on contracts with sub-contractors, suppliers, and others.
2. Consider how to improve our own standard terms of business based on negotiations and issues arising during engagements.
3. Handle various commercial contracting issues, such as advising on local-country adoption contracts, agreements with member-firms, data-sharing agreements, secondment and placement agreements, and software supply contracts. Interpret contractual provisions for colleagues, provide legal input on termination clauses, nondisclosure agreements, tendering documents, and disclosure arrangements. Advise on risk management and compliance issues.
4. Advise on collaboration, referral, and introduction contracts.
5. Work closely with the Office of the General Counsel and risk-management team to deliver legal advice and support to partners, directors, and stakeholders.
Knowing you’re right for us
The minimum criteria are that you are a qualified solicitor or barrister with:
1. Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
2. Good knowledge of professional liability law.
3. Understanding of professional services contracting and risk management issues.
4. A pragmatic, solution-based approach.
5. A self-starting attitude and the ability to manage conflicting demands.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including drafting contractual terms.
