We are looking for a Groups & Events Executive who brings energy, organisation, and exceptional attention to detail to every guest and client interaction.
This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing confirmed events at The Newman, ensuring every experience is delivered seamlessly, profitably, and in line with our luxury brand standards. This is a maternity cover role on a fixed-term basis.

About You and the Role
As a Groups & Events Executive at The Newman, you will:
Manage confirmed events from enquiry stage through to contracting, execution, and post-event follow-up
Quote, negotiate, and contract group and event business for the hotel
Produce detailed function sheets, event orders, and group resumes
Conduct client planning meetings and site visits
Coordinate closely with the operational teams to ensure seamless event delivery
Ensure room layouts, timings, menus, billing details, and technical requirements are confirmed accurately in advance
Act as the primary point of contact for clients once contracts are confirmed
Build strong relationships with corporate bookers, agencies, and private clients
Handle last-minute changes calmly, professionally, and with a solutions-focused mindset
Upsell menus, beverages, AV, bedrooms, and additional services to maximise revenue opportunities
Maintain accurate records within Delphi, Opera and other hotel systems, ensuring contracts, deposits, and payment schedules are managed correctly
What Were Looking For
Previous experience within Groups & Events, Event Planning, or Sales within a 4 or 5-star hotel environment
Strong understanding of corporate meetings, private dining, group bookings, and social events
Confidence in client-facing situations and relationship management
Experience using hotel systems such as Delphi, Opera, or similar platforms
Strong written and verbal communication skills
