Description About the Team The Fundraising and Engagement area includes Cancer Council SA’s fundraising, communication, prevention and advocacy, marketing, and customer experience teams. Fundraising and Engagement ensures a strategic and coordinated approach to our internal and external representation and enables the organisation to meet our objectives through strategy development, advocacy, brand positioning, fundraising and effective stakeholder relationships. About the Role The Senior Fundraising Events Coordinator is a key player in bringing Cancer Council SA’s most iconic fundraising events—like Daffodil Day and The Longest Day—to life. More than just leading our campaigns, this role is about inspiring community participation, fostering meaningful connections, and helping to deliver experiences that raise essential funds for cancer research, prevention, and support services across South Australia. You will lead the planning, execution and growth of key campaigns—ensuring they achieve financial targets while engaging supporters in a way that’s memorable and impactful. Drawing on strong project management skills and stakeholder collaboration, you'll ensure every element of the campaign runs seamlessly—on time, within budget, and with purpose. As part of a collaborative and passionate team, you’ll also support other fundraising initiatives throughout the year. Lead with purpose – create moments of joy, hope and meaning, and make a real difference in the lives of South Australians impacted by cancer. Key Accountabilities Include: Contribute to campaign strategy, business cases, and project plans in collaboration with the Fundraising Events Manager and national teams. Lead and deliver campaigns on time and within budget using project management processes. Work with other Cancer Council states to localise and optimise campaign tactics. Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to deliver on project plans and manage relationships with campaign participants, partners, and stakeholders. Provide regular and timely reports on campaign performance locally and nationally. Work with the Fundraising Events Manager to prepare project budget and forecast information and manage working budgets. Skills And Experiences About You A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role in either the not-for-profit sector or corporate sectors is desired Demonstrated capacity to meet revenue targets and project manage major fundraising campaigns A self-starter who can proactively identify and executive revenue growth opportunities. Experience in supporter engagement and communication from lead generation to retention and renewal Proven experience in coordinating the development of communication materials, including mass emails and direct mail Highly proficient in databases including an ability to read, interpret, segment and manipulate data Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while managing competing priorities Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to develop relationships with a diverse range of supporters and work effectively within a team Highly competent in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of products Demonstrated experience in planning, managing and reporting on projects from conception to conclusion Outstanding communication, interpersonal, oral and written skills Integrity and commitment to ethical behaviour in line with Cancer Council SA’s values Qualifications in marketing, business development or communications highly regarded.
