We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our team in the Urology Investigation Suite. This is a part-time position, working four weekdays per week.
Main duties of the job
The unit specializes in outpatient procedures, including endoscopic investigations of the lower urinary tract, cystoscopy, bladder or urethral procedures such as laser ablation of bladder tumours, and supporting prostate biopsy procedures. We also run nurse-led clinics for intravesical chemotherapy, immunotherapy, urodynamics, uroflowmetry, and teaching on intermittent self-catheterization and catheter changes (full training provided). Additionally, we support the Urology Ward, UAU, and A&E with emergency procedures.
In this role, you will assist doctors and clinical nurse specialists and manage your own nurse-led clinical activities.
We welcome nurses seeking variety, professionalism, and high standards of care. Applications from newly qualified nurses and experienced practitioners are encouraged. Informal visits can be arranged with Matron Susan Crosby-Jones. The department operates Monday to Friday, 0800 to 1700 hours.
