Tradewind is recruiting a dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to join an alternative provision in Blackpool, helping young people who require additional emotional and behavioural support to succeed. The Role As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will play a vital part in supporting teenagers who have faced significant social, emotional, or educational barriers. You'll work alongside a committed pastoral and SEND team to help students regulate, engage, and move forward with confidence. Key Responsibilities Emotional & Behavioural Support Provide tailored 1:1 and small-group interventions for students with SEMH needs. Use trauma-informed, restorative, and nurturing approaches to support emotional regulation. Help create a calm, safe and consistent learning environment. Relationship Building Act as a trusted adult and positive role model for young people. Build strong, professional relationships that encourage resilience, communication, and self-belief. Learning & Engagement Support Encourage students to engage with their education and overcome barriers to learning. Work closely with teachers, pastoral leads, and the SENCO to ensure the needs outlined in EHCPs are met. Team Collaboration Monitor and report on progress, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing. Support staff across the provision to deliver high-quality care and interventions. What We're Looking For Experience working with young people with SEMH or mental health needs. A calm, patient, and resilient approach to managing challenging behaviour. Strong communication and de-escalation skills.
