Business Development Manager – Legal East Midlands (Nottingham / Leicester) Full-time | Hybrid working Our client, a highly respected professional services firm with a strong regional and national presence, is looking for an experienced and commercially minded Business Development Manager to join their growing National Business Development team. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic thinker with a proven track record of driving growth and developing strong client relationships. The role will focus on identifying and securing new business opportunities, supporting revenue growth, and expanding the firm’s mid-market and corporate client base across the East Midlands. Key Responsibilities Support the delivery of the firm’s long-term growth strategy Develop and implement new initiatives to drive revenue and business expansion across the region Identify, pursue, and convert new business and cross-selling opportunities within new and existing client relationships Monitor market developments and competitor activity to inform business development planning Coach, mentor, and support Partners and senior stakeholders on business development best practice Work closely with senior leadership to design and deliver innovative products and services that enhance client relationships and create new revenue streams Attend networking and business functions, representing the firm professionally and gathering market insights Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with intermediaries and referral partners Manage and maintain BD pipelines, CRM systems, and reporting processes Plan and deliver targeted business development campaigns, seminars, webinars, and client events Collaborate with Marketing, PR, and Digital teams to maximise the reach and impact of campaigns Skills and Experience Required Strategic and commercially astute, with a proactive approach to business growth In-depth understanding of the UK corporate, mid-market, and SME landscape Demonstrable success in generating and delivering new business within a professional services or commercial environment Strong relationship-building and influencing skills, with the confidence to engage at senior levels Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify new routes to market Experience managing multiple stakeholders and driving collaborative initiatives Excellent project management and prioritisation skills, with a focus on delivering results Commercially aware and financially literate, with an understanding of profitability and growth targets Proficiency in CRM systems (such as Microsoft Dynamics), Microsoft Office, and digital business tools Strong communication and writing skills, with the ability to brief creative teams and produce engaging marketing copy This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a tangible impact within a forward-thinking, growth-oriented firm that values innovation, collaboration, and client excellence
