What we need in a nutshell
We want our guests to enjoy time at the pool and leisure facilities, and to be safe too. We need an experienced leisure assistant. You will have outstanding people skills, who will support the team to ensure the pool and leisure facilities including cafe area are maintained to a high standard and related activities continue to run smoothly.
Who are we?
We are a dynamic and growing company, shaking up the Great British holiday. At our amazing UK resorts we pull out all the stops and add the bells and whistles to give our guests the holiday of a lifetime.
What you’ll be doing
Working as part of our team of holiday heroes, you will be the go-to person at the poolside. You will look after everyone’s safety, keep the whole area clean and hygienic and make sure that we’re meeting our legal requirements. As a leisure assistant you will be responsible for the daily operational duties and performance.
You will be incredibly friendly, answering guests’ questions and making sure that everyone is having a great time..
One more thing…holidays happen at holiday times, so you will need to work your magic on weekends and bank holidays too.
Skills, experience and qualities you’ll need.
There’s lots of training on offer but you will need:
1. Previous experience of working in a gym or pool
2. Fantastic interpersonal skills – you’ll need to be assertive as well as friendly.
3. To be naturally vigilant and helpful - guests come first, so you need to be alert to their needs as well as their safety.
It’s about your values too. We have a can-do, fun loving, people centred ethos here at Away Resorts, which is captured by our holiday heroes’ mantra of Attentive Amazing Lovers – if that’s fired up your curiosity, have a read about it here and decide if it describes you.
If your application is successful, you’ll have to apply for an Enhanced DBS. We need to be happy that this, together other information we may request, is all in order before you can join the team.
Nice to have but not essential.
It would be great if you tick some of these boxes too (but we won’t hold it against you if you don’t).
4. A valid NPNQ (National Pool Lifeguard Qualification)
5. Pool plant operators certificate
6. ASA/STA level 1/2 swimming qualification
7. Experience of working as part of a team.
8. Experience in the hospitality sector
