This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a passion for supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) and helping to drive inclusive practices across the school. You will play a key role in assisting the SENCo to lead and develop the school’s SEN provision, ensuring that all students have the support they need to succeed. Role Highlights: Full-time, permanent position at a supportive secondary school in Newham Assist the SENCo in leading and managing SEN provision across the school Oversee the delivery of tailored support to students with a variety of SEN, including learning difficulties, SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs, and autism Provide guidance and support to SEN staff and collaborate with teaching colleagues to implement individual education plans (IEPs) Monitor and assess student progress, working closely with staff to ensure effective interventions and adjustments to teaching strategies Promote a positive, inclusive ethos, encouraging whole-school awareness and understanding of SEN Support with SEN policy development and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and best practices Foster strong relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals to ensure holistic support for students Experience & Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCo) or commitment to achieving it Experience working in a secondary school setting, with a strong background in SEN support Proven experience in a leadership or coordination role, ideally within an SEN context Strong knowledge of SEN strategies, including differentiated instruction and tailored interventions Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills Enhanced DBS check required Why Join Us?
