Role: Field/Contract Service Engineer
Location: Cumbernauld, G68 9HQ
Hours: 45 hours per week (06:00-18:00 Monday to Friday). Option for 40‑hour week.
Salary: £45,653.40 - £48,578.40 per annum, based on 45 hpw (DOE).
Responsibilities
* Servicing, repairing, and fault‑finding on chassis, bodies, hydraulics, and electrical systems
* Preparing vehicles for MOT and ensuring compliance with safety standards
* Working independently in the field and at customer premises
* Managing contract maintenance, call‑outs, and breakdown support
* Completing job documentation and compliance paperwork accurately
Qualifications & Experience
* Time‑served HGV commercial vehicle engineer (NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent)
* Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
* Experience working in a field service or workshop environment
* Customer‑focused, professional, and self‑motivated
* Comfortable with travel, overtime, and call‑out cover
