Self Employed PAs x 2 Ref: LTES1509 Location: Hampden Park, Eastbourne Details This role is to support a Man Drivers licence required: Yes Own vehicle needed: Yes Employment status: Self-employed Hours per week: 17 Hours per week, days and times to be discussed at interview. Hourly pay rate: TBD - I am looking for 2 compassionate and reliable Personal Assistants to support me in rebuilding my independence and improving my day-to-day life. I am a man in my early fifties living in Eastbourne, managing a range of mental and physical health challenges. These include mixed anxiety and depressive disorder, difficulties related to past substance misuse, emotionally unstable personality traits, as well as physical conditions such as osteoarthritis, gastritis, angina, and recurrent pneumonia. My mobility is limited, and although I now have a mobility scooter through Motability with support from Changing Futures, I still find it difficult to go out alone due to anxiety and low confidence. This role is about far more than practical support—it is about helping me regain a sense of control, dignity, and purpose. I am looking for someone who understands that progress can be slow, and who can offer patience, encouragement, and kindness along the way. At the moment, I struggle with personal care and maintaining my home environment, and I often feel self-conscious about my appearance, which makes it hard for me to leave the house. Having someone by my side to support me with these challenges would make a huge difference. You would support me in creating a clean, safe, and comfortable living space, as well as helping me organise my finances and daily routines. Encouragement around eating regular, balanced meals and staying hydrated is also important. Over time, I would like to rebuild my confidence so I can access my local community more independently, using my mobility scooter to get out and about. A big personal goal of mine is to return to fishing, something I used to love and found very calming. Having someone who is willing to support me to do this again would mean a great deal to me and would play a big part in improving my wellbeing. I am a heavy smoker and do smoke in my home, so it’s important that you are comfortable working in that environment. More than anything, I am looking for someone who is kind, non-judgemental, patient, and willing to support me at my own pace. I understand that change will not happen overnight, but with the right support, I believe I can make positive steps forward. If you feel you could offer this kind of support and would like to be part of my journey towards a more independent and fulfilling life, I would really like to hear from you.
