An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Support Manager to join our team to work on a high profile, maternity project within the Welsh Ambulance Services NHS Trust. This is a key position, in which you will be part of a key team delivering pivotal change for the organisation and the wider NHS in Wales. You will be fundamental to coordinating and supporting a high-profile ambitious complex project with multiple influential stakeholders.

You will join us at an exciting time of change, as the Trust embarks on delivering ambitious change for maternity services. Enhancing remote support for women and their families through pregnancy, building on pathways of care that connect communities with wider NHS Wales services. To do this, you will work closely with change agents, clinical and operational leaders, and senior stakeholders across Wales to ensure efforts are applied effectively to deliver impact to service users. You will be responsible for supporting the project management and leadership team of this high-profile, strategic level priority, and play a pivotal role in the success of the initiative.
Main duties of the job
To be success in this role, you will need to call upon your expertise, experience and abilities to meet our ambitious challenge. Professionally, you will be both technical and credible with the ability to organise key stakeholders, draw out key details to relevant decision makers, and ensure areas of work are understood. You will support the project team to influence and deliver change across established systems, processes, and cultures and be part of innovation and change.
As the Project Support Manager (PSM), you will be a key link in keeping people aligned, working together; you’ll need to be comfortable in stepping up and leaning in to support the project through its challenges and barriers. You will need to be comfortable juggling your workload, and making judgements on priorities within a pressured environment.
It is necessary to use your well-developed organisation skills and professional abilities to keep structure of the project. We are looking for a proactive self-starter with the ability to work under pressure, multi-task and prioritise. In line with the Trust’s Starting Salary Procedure, all applicants will start at the bottom of the band for the position applied for, but can apply for a higher salary if they have previous experience relevant to the position.

Formulate, implement, and monitor progress of the projects to ensure that programmes and project work streams are planned, documented, and managed effectively to assist in their successful delivery.
This will also include responsibility for preparing documentation and tracking project plans and benefits
The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of recognised best practice, and project management principles. Excellent candidates will be able to draw upon their experience within a health and care environment and have experience in projects working with.

Essential criteria
* Educated to Degree level in a relevant subject or equivalent experience
* Knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring, and controlling projects
Desirable criteria
* Project Management qualification such as Prince 2 or equivalent experience
