Are you looking for the opportunity to work within an award winning specialist Community Falls & Rehabilitation Team? We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team providing assessment and rehabilitation for adults with a range of conditions impacting their functional ability.
Main duties of the job
This post is part of the Community Rehabilitation and Falls Team which provides effective and efficient multidisciplinary rehabilitation for a caseload of patients with a variety of physical conditions. Duties will include assessment, Occupational Therapy (OT) interventions such as assessment for equipment, ADL, planning therapy programmes and discharge of patients, as well as appropriate delegation of work to juniors, assistants and students. Working as a lone practitioner within people's own home, using evidence based/client centred principals to assess, plan, treat and evaluate interventions.
Person Specification
* Qualifications & Education:
o Diploma / degree in Occupational Therapy
o Registered with HCPC
o Evidence of relevant post-graduate experience
o Member of RCOT
* Knowledge and Training:
o Awareness of relevant national and local guidelines
o Good knowledge of falls prevention and falls risk factors as per national guidelines
o IT Training / knowledge
o Commitment to personal and team development
o Commitment to undertake appropriate training
o Willingness to work towards competencies in vestibular assessment & treatment
* Experience:
o Experience of working with physically impaired patients
o Completed rotations in core areas or equivalent rehabilitation experience across a wide variety of clinical settings
o Experience of rehabilitation work within an acute/community rehabilitation setting
o Experience of working in a Multidisciplinary team
o Experience at band 6 level
o Experience of community working
