The starting rate for this position is $21.36, with incremental increases earned through developing skills and qualifications.
Summary
This position is a Maintenance Technician in an egg production and processing facility. The purpose of this role is to perform minor to major equipment repairs during non-production and production times.
Key Responsibilities
1. Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
2. Dismantle machines, equipment, or devices to access and remove defective parts for repair.
3. Maintain food processing equipment.
4. Perform preventative maintenance, including inspecting motors, bearings, belts, fluid levels, and replacing filters.
5. Perform general maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical wiring, and installation of new equipment and parts.
6. Document all maintenance activities, including preventative maintenance.
7. Identify required parts and notify supervisors.
8. Notify facility supervisors before undertaking maintenance or repairs in food handling areas.
9. Remove tools and debris after maintenance and notify personnel for sanitation procedures.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
* High school diploma or equivalent.
* Maintenance certification or comparable experience.
* Ability to obtain First Aid/CPR certification.
* Previous maintenance experience, preferably in food manufacturing or processing.
* Knowledge of safety programs like Confined Space, LOTO, Hazcom, Hot Work, Electrical Safety, etc.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
* Knowledge of machines and tools, including design, use, repair, and maintenance.
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
* Skill in diagnosing and resolving operational errors.
* Ability to analyze complex problems and develop solutions.
* Strong knowledge of pneumatics and power transmission.
Physical Demands
Stand and walk constantly; grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop; lift up to 10 pounds frequently; sit, climb, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Work Environment
Exposure to moving mechanical parts, water, chemicals; temperature-regulated environment with cooler areas; moderate noise level; use of PPE required; adherence to GMPs essential.
