Working for the Senior Executive team, must be highly confidential and professional. Would be required to supervise other Executive Support Team members, line management experience required. Working hours between 8.30am - 5pm must be covered between the team. Travel to other offices may be required between Skelmersdale and Ormskirk. Hybrid working available, requirement of 2-3 days in the office. DBS Checks required & 3yr employment ref. Potential to become permanent, role currently advertised.
Responsibilities
* To support the PA to the Chief Executive in ensuring a highly professional, flexible and resilient Executive support service is provided to the Chief Executive, Directors and Assistant Directors within the Council, supporting service delivery, process improvements and change.
* To take a lead role, under the direction of the PA to the Chief Executive in the day-to-day running of the Executive Support function providing direct supervision/management to the Executive Support Officers.
* To be responsible for providing direct support to the Directors within the Council.
* To deputise for the PA to the Chief Executive, ensuring business continuity and maintaining a seamless executive support function.
* To ensure an efficient and effective administration service is provided to the Executive and Corporate Management teams as directed by the PA to the Chief Executive, including briefing notes, research and supporting material, correspondence, reports, email and diary management and minute taking.
* To assist the PA to the Chief Executive in coordinating workloads within the service, to ensure business continuity.
* Provide enhanced support to the Directors of the Council, including preparation of briefing notes, background research, and detailed preparatory material to assist informed decision-making.
* To provide additional resilience across the Executive Support Team, particularly during Local Government Reorganisation (LGR), supporting Directors and EMT throughout the transition period and into implementation.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Line management experience and the ability to supervise an Executive Support Team.
* Confidential handling of sensitive information and high level of discretion.
* DBS checks required and 3 years of employment references.
* Travelling between Skelmersdale and Ormskirk may be required.
* Hybrid working with 2-3 days in the office.

Work Context
The post holder will work as part of the centralized Executive Support team and provide assistance to the Senior Management team within the Council to enable them to deliver their objectives. They will have contact with the Chief Executive, Directors, Assistant Directors, service managers from across the organisation, Elected Members and external parties, answering queries in a professional manner. They will play a key role in ensuring resilience is provided across the Executive Support function.
