Director, New Business Development
The Director, New Business Development will play a pivotal role in driving the business growth of Mighty Union by identifying, negotiating, and managing key strategic partnerships and new business opportunities. This individual will lead the development and execution of marketing strategies to elevate the agency’s brand presence, foster long-term partnerships, and generate new revenue opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in advertising, business development, and marketing, with a proven ability to create mutually beneficial partnerships that align with the agency’s growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development
* Partner with the CEO, COO, and senior leadership to define and execute strategies for client acquisition, market expansion, and revenue growth.
* Own the end-to-end new business process—from lead qualification and pipeline development to proposal creation, pricing models, and pitch execution.
* Maintain a clear focus on revenue generation, setting and tracking quarterly and annual goals, pipeline metrics, client acquisition targets, and partnership expansion.
* Build and manage a robust pipeline of prospective clients, partnerships, and revenue streams through research, competitive analysis, and industry networking.
* Craft and oversee the development of capabilities decks, case studies, RFI/RFP responses, and tailored presentations that align with client needs and position the agency to win.
* Coordinate and project manage pitches, ensuring deadlines, deliverables, and cross-functional teams are aligned and prepared for success.
* Serve as a key point of contact for major clients during onboarding and transition, ensuring seamless handoffs and client satisfaction.
* Build and maintain long-term client and partner relationships that extend beyond the pitch to foster retention and growth.
* Lead proactive prospecting initiatives, including outreach campaigns, event targeting, and strategic content marketing in partnership with agency marketing.
* Maintain and optimize CRM systems (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce) and ensure accurate reporting of KPIs, pipeline health, and performance trends.
Marketing Leadership
* Oversee the development and execution of marketing campaigns to promote the agency’s services.
* Drive brand awareness through strategic collaborations, industry events, and innovative initiatives.
* Lead thought leadership efforts, including speaking engagements, partnerships, and media opportunities.
Thought Leadership & Networking
* Along with agency leadership, help to represent the agency at industry conferences, panels, and events, positioning it as a thought leader.
* Along with agency leadership, help to lead workshops, webinars, and other initiatives to showcase the agency’s expertise and generate business leads.
* Build and maintain a professional network with clients, partners, and industry influencers.
Cross-functional Collaboration
* Collaborate with creative, media, and account management teams to align business development efforts with core services.
* Craft case studies, presentations, and marketing collateral that reflect the agency’s expertise and successful outcomes.
* Coordinate and oversee responses to RFPs (Request for Proposals) and manage negotiations to close deals
Qualifications
* 6-8 years of experience in a business development, new business, or marketing role—preferably within a creative, digital, media, or advertising agency.
* Proven experience managing complex pitches, proposals, and presentations.
* Excellent writing, storytelling, and deck-building skills—both strategic and persuasive.
* Strong project management and time management abilities; thrives under deadlines and pressure.
* Comfortable interfacing with senior executives and client-facing teams.
* Familiarity with CRM tools, marketing automation platforms, and proposal design software is a plus.
* A proactive mindset and a collaborative spirit—someone who loves connecting dots and building momentum.
