Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Activities Coordinator to join our team and to provide engaging and meaningful activities for residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will have experience in care settings, such as nursing homes or dementia care homes, and possess the ability to communicate effectively with both residents and staff. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our residents, particularly those requiring dementia care.

Duties

* Develop and implement a diverse range of activities tailored to the interests and needs of residents.
* Coordinate and oversee daily activities, ensuring that all residents are encouraged to participate.
* Collaborate with nursing staff to assess residents' physical and cognitive abilities, adapting activities accordingly.
* Foster a warm and inclusive environment that promotes social interaction among residents.
* Maintain accurate records of participation and feedback on activities for continuous improvement.
* Organise special events, outings, and themed days to enhance community engagement.
* Communicate regularly with families regarding their loved ones' involvement in activities.

Requirements

* Previous experience in senior care, nursing homes, or assisted living environments is highly desirable.
* Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with residents of varying abilities.
* Knowledge of dementia care practices is an strong advantage.
* A compassionate approach to care, demonstrating empathy and understanding towards residents' needs.
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
* Flexibility to adapt activities based on resident feedback and changing needs.
* Ability to work flexibly in line with the needs of the home, including evenings and weekends as required by the activity schedule.
