School and College Liaison Officer
Salary: £29,180 per annum. Full‑time, one‑year fixed‑term position (36.25 hours per week).
Downing College is seeking a full‑time School and College Liaison Officer to join the Tutorial and Admissions Team. The postholder will represent the College when interacting with schools in relation to access and widening participation, especially in Cornwall, Devon and Dorset, and will be required to travel to schools and events in these areas and more widely across the UK.
The role has a significant volume of administrative tasks and requires working to strict deadlines. It requires a high level of organisational and administrative multitasking skills, including the ability to plan, prepare and run a number of activities and events – both in person and online, produce reports and prepare and present statistics throughout the year.
Responsibilities
* Represent Downing College to schools and external partners in access and widening participation.
* Plan, organize and run a range of events and activities, both in person and online.
* Produce and present reports and statistical summaries of outreach activities.
* Oversee appointment, training and oversight of Student Ambassadors.
* Coordinate and support undergraduate and postgraduate admissions and tutorial matters within the Tutorial & Admissions Team.
* Provide administrative support to undergraduates, postgraduates, supervisors, Directors of Studies and Tutors.
* Participate in training days and events prior to starting the role if not available to begin immediately.

Downing College aims to help all students develop their academic ability and personal potential. With an undergraduate intake of about 135 and around 1000 undergraduates and postgraduates, the College is part of a community comprising 57 Fellows and 210 non‑academic staff. The Tutorial & Admissions Team provides a professional, comprehensive and supportive service for the College and works with various partners across the University.
Employment Details
The role is one‑year fixed‑term, with the possibility to apply for a further year. The position may require additional hours or occasional weekends. Holidays are normally taken outside of Full Term when possible, and the postholder should not take holiday during the undergraduate admissions period (October to December).
