Main Duties And Responsibilities
* Provide direct care to members supporting and promoting their independence, choice, dignity and overall wellbeing.
* Care activities include washing, showering, bathing; promoting continence and assisting with toileting; assisting with dressing; assisting with food and fluid intake; mobility.
* Ensure members are aware of and participate in developing Person-Centred Care Plans with the Named Nurse and the Member.
Additional Responsibilities
* Be aware of any special support needs (e.g., use of moving and handling equipment, mobility aids, dietary needs, choking risk).
* Provide care in line with each member’s Personal Care Plan; liaise with the Manager, registered Nurse or Care Coordinator to update plans.
* Support members and families, including arranging clothing, grooming products, and liaising with laundry staff.
* Ensure equipment is stored, cleaned and maintained; report faults in the maintenance log.
* Participate in activities and events; respond to help requests, including emergencies.
* Develop skills and provide wider services, e.g., blood pressure monitoring, urine analysis and support with medication administration where appropriate.
* Monitor and report on members’ daily progress; document observations in line with service standards (fluid balance, nutrition, etc.).
* Help create a homely environment in suites to promote wellbeing and independence.
* Support development of meaningful activities and therapies and assist with attending home activities within the community.
* Attend mandatory training and engage in clinical supervision and annual reviews.
* Maintain a learning culture and work flexibly to meet business needs, including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.
Eligibility
In line with the Asylum & Immigration Act 1996, all applicants must be eligible to live and work in the UK or obtain permits prior to application. Documented evidence of eligibility will be required during recruitment. Skills
