Job Description
We are currently recruiting an experienced Duct Fitter to join a busy mechanical installation team on a commercial project. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and fitting metal ductwork systems to a high standard, ensuring all work is completed safely, accurately, and in line with drawings and site requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Install galvanised metal ductwork (spiral, square/rectangular, circular) on site
* Read and work from mechanical drawings, schematics, and ductwork layouts
* Measure, cut, assemble, and fit ductwork sections accurately
* Fit associated components including:
* Fire dampers
* Volume control dampers
* Grilles and diffusers
* Access panels
* Flexible connections
* Use hand and power tools safely and correctly
* Ensure ductwork is level, aligned, supported, and installed to specification
* Work collaboratively with mates, supervisors, and other trades on site
* Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times
* Follow site H&S procedures and company standards
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Duct Fitter (metal ductwork)
* Ability to read and interpret HVAC/MEP drawings confidently
* Strong knowledge of ductwork installation methods and standards
* Competent using relevant tools and equipment
* Good attention to detail and high-quality workmanship
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Essential Qualifications / Tickets
* Valid CSCS card (Blue Skilled Worker preferred)
* IPAF / PASMA (beneficial but not essential)
* Own tools and PPE
Desirable
* Experience working on large commercial projects
* NVQ Level 2/3 in Heating & Ventilation / Ductwork (or equivalent)
* Previous experience working alongside duct mates and leading small teams
