A based public sector organisation is currently recruiting for a Business Continuity Analyst for a 4 month contract.
The role will be based in central London and their hybrid working policy is 3 days attendance per week. The rate for this role will be £350 per day umbrella (inside IR35)
Their Strategy, Planning and Service Improvement (SPSI) department is the strategic engine room. They support senior leadership in shaping the future of policing through robust planning, governance, risk management, and performance evaluation.
The Role
They are seeking a Business Continuity Analyst to lead the development and implementation of their Business Continuity Management (BCM) framework. This is a pivotal role that will ensure they are prepared for disruption and resilient in the face of emerging threats.
You will work across departments to review, refresh, and embed business continuity plans and policies, using tools such as Riskonnect and aligning with ISO 22301 standards. You'll also play a key role in stakeholder engagement, risk analysis, and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities
Review and update all Business Continuity (BC) plans and policies
Lead the implementation of BC plans into Riskonnect, resolving any conflicts or issues
Develop proposals to enhance BCM capacity and capability
Assess the feasibility of achieving ISO 22301 certification
Conduct stakeholder consultations, workshops, and process evaluations
Produce detailed reports and recommendations for governance boards and committees
Support change initiatives and ensure alignment with strategic objectives
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications:
Business Continuity Initial Certificate or membership from the Business Continuity Institute (BCI)
Experience:
Proven experience in business continuity within a public sector, government, or security-related environment
Strong background in stakeholder engagement and report writing
Familiarity with the Civil Contingencies Act and BCM software tools
Experience managing multiple projects and priorities independently
Skills & Knowledge:
Advanced knowledge of Riskonnect desirable
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and facilitation abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (VLOOKUPs, PivotTables, VBA)
Understanding of project/change management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall)
