However, it would be required for all new applicants applying for this position)CITB or SMSTS equivalent in site safety managementCSCS Card for appropriate level of responsibility/ management competencyMinimum 5 years' experience in Project Supervisory positionMinimum 7 years experience in Electricity Supply Industry and construction of HV and EHV power cable systems up to 400kV and associated oil, Jointing and civil engineering worksCompetent in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Project and Office OutlookTechnically competent in EHV power engineeringPrinciple Duties and Accountabilities:Responsible for the management of an individual project or multiple projects (number assigned will be subject to value, duration & complexity) and effective deployment of EHV resources to ensure works are delivered incident free, in compliance with current company policy and specific procedures, client specific specifications and Industry standards.Collaboration with project and operational managementDeliver works to agreed programmes and within budgets.Continuous development of client and supply chain partner relationships and where identified implementation of cost effective innovations to the business.The role will require an active involvement in the tendering and estimation process and preparation of both tender and construction programmes requiring liaison with Estimators and Surveyors to providenoperational and technical support in the compilation of bids and feasibility studies.The role will require specific technical knowledge on EHV Systems and XLPE type cables at all voltages up to 400KV.Accountable for recording and distribution of departments KPI figures and Data to the JSM SHEQ team.Accountable for the efficient management of the strategic stores and the use/calibration of specialist tooling/equipmentAccountable for the completion of essential Project close out data including reports, and technical support data. General Duties:Manage all operational aspects of specific projects and activities ensuring that they are on time, within planned costs, to the specifications and drawings to the agreed standards.Effectively manage customer & client relationships, playing an integral part in the preparation and presentation to the customer of the company’s technical and commercial benefits.Work closely with the Estimating team to contribute to the preparation of accurate project estimates and bid documentation, assisting in all relevant aspects of the company’s tender & post tender negotiations leading to the successful award of contracts for which bids have been made.Attendance at pre and post tender meetings and providing feedback to Estimating DepartmentAttendance at company and external Contract Handover, Progress Review and Operational meetingsTake Ownership of assigned project and/ or multiple projects, responsible for ensuring project administration in accordance with the company Integrated Management System (IMS) and Contract Terms & ConditionsPromotion and implementation of all JSM SHEQ policies and proceduresParticipation in delivery of weekly “Site Safety Briefings” and “Toolbox Talks” as requiredCompletion of Rams and Method Statements for specific project activitiesEnsure that all Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental requirements pertaining to the project are in place and monitored.Encourage the reporting of “Near Misses” to all staffRegular site visits and progress review meetings with the designated Site Managers.Identifying opportunities for introduction of new innovations and industry productsTo promote the services of JSM whilst carrying out your duties to assist in creating new businessWork closely with the planning team to ensure successful planning of the sequence of the work, establishment of key dates and the workforce required by the project worksWork with the Commercial team on all contract related issues e.g. variations, interim progress applications for payment on account for the project works, negotiation and agreement of the project final account, and subcontractor accounts.Monitor and ensure that the work of direct and sub-contract resource is being carried out to specification and program, ensuring that any defects are remedied and managed within the scope of the contract terms.Enforce Yellow and Red card disciplinary procedure where applicableAttainment of relevant targets, KPl’s, and business goals, maximizing contract profitability.Production of reports, presentations and drawings/designs as required by clientsAny other appropriate duties as might be required on a contract/ project basis or required by senior management to meet the requirements of the power F&S business.Participation in recruitment initiatives in-conjunction with the Operations DirectorOperational and technical support to Site Managers, Foremen, Team Leaders and OperativesEnsuring that all direct reports essential training requirements are kept up to date.Weekly progress reports to assist in commercial management and financial reportingResponsible for completing and authorising timesheets for payroll dept. in a timely manner.Benefits:Private Pension SchemeHealth cash-planDiscount and cashback schemeAnnual BonusDiscounted gym schemeLong Service AwardEmployee Assistance Programme
