Are you a driven Technical Manager looking to step into a high-impact, site-facing role within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment?
We’re looking for a Factory Technical Manager to join The Compleat Food Group at our Riverside site. This is a key leadership position where you’ll take ownership of factory technical performance, ensuring the highest standards of food safety, quality, and compliance while driving continuous improvement across the site.
The Role
As Factory Technical Manager, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day technical management of the factory, leading a site-based technical team and acting as a key link between operations, customers, and the wider business.
You’ll play a critical role in delivering both customer and business technical strategies, ensuring all products are safe, legal, and meet the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the factory technical team, setting clear objectives and driving performance
* Ensure full compliance with retailer standards, legal requirements, and company policies
* Deliver technical strategies aligned to customer and business expectations
* Drive continuous improvement across key KPIs including complaints, audits, and customer scorecards
* Act as the technical lead for customer audits, visits, and retailer interactions
* Build strong cross-functional relationships across site and group functions
* Use data and insights to improve site technical performance
* Support product launches and process design from a technical perspective
* Deputise for the Head of Technical when required
About You
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can confidently lead from the front.
You will have:
* A degree in a food-related discipline
* HACCP Level 3 and Food Safety Level 3 (minimum)
* Experience in a technical/quality leadership role within food manufacturing (ideally chilled)
* Strong experience with UK retailers (e.g. M&S, Tesco, Asda, Waitrose, JS)
* A proven track record of leading audits and maintaining high standards
* Experience managing a factory-facing technical team
* Strong influencing, communication, and stakeholder management skills
