CreditSights is currently seeking an Associate Data Analyst based out of our Glasgow office

How You’ll Make an Impact:

1. Help build and maintain a central database of financial instruments, bringing together data from multiple sources
2. Identify and fix data quality issues
3. Create and update documentation to support business projects and data consolidation
4. Analyze financial data sources to compare coverage, delivery speed, and reliability
5. Prepare regular reports for internal teams, partners, and regulatory bodies
6. Work closely with other teams to share knowledge and improve how data is managed
7. Use SQL and Python to automate tasks and improve data processes

You May be a Good Fit if:

8. Degree in Data Science, Finance, Economics, or a related field
9. Internship or academic experience in data analysis or financial services is advantageous
10. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
11. Interest in financial markets and data-driven decision making
12. Ability to interpret complex datasets and summarise findings succinctly
13. Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with data visualisation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
14. Working knowledge of SQL and Python for data analysis, automation, and data quality checks
15. Ability to produce high-quality outputs with a high attention to detail

What Would Make You Stand Out:

16. Experience working with large, complex financial datasets
17. Demonstrated ability to resolve data quality issues such as duplicates, missing identifiers, or incorrect mappings
18. Hands-on experience with SQL and Python for data analysis, automation, or data cleansing
19. Familiarity with data governance, regulatory requirements, or audit processes (e.g., DORA regulation in EU)
20. Exposure to financial instruments, bond data, or entity management in a financial services environment
21. Ability to create clear documentation, data dictionaries, or process guides
22. Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams, including data, content, and compliance specialists
23. Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement
