The Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Construction Manager to lead the successful delivery of state-of-the-art science and research facilities. Working on highly technical, fast-paced projects, you will play a key role in managing construction activities from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge laboratory, research, and innovation spaces that support world-leading scientific and technological advancement. You will collaborate closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams to deliver complex buildings with specialist services and high-performance environments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage day-to-day site operations across complex science and technology construction projects
* Lead and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure efficient project delivery
* Ensure all works are carried out in line with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
* Monitor programme performance and proactively manage risks, delays, and site challenges
* Drive high-quality workmanship and ensure compliance with technical specifications and client requirements
* Work closely with project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and design teams
* Oversee logistics planning, sequencing of works, and site coordination activities
* Support cost control and commercial performance in collaboration with the wider project team
* Chair site meetings and provide regular progress updates and reports
* Promote a collaborative, solutions-focused culture on site
About You
To be considered as a Construction Manager, you will need to demonstrate:
* Proven experience in a Construction Manager role delivering complex building projects
* Previous experience working on science, laboratory, healthcare, pharmaceutical, technical, or high-specification projects is highly desirable
* Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building services coordination, and health & safety legislation
* Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders
* Organised, proactive, and confident in solving technical and operational challenges
* Able to thrive in fast-paced environments while maintaining exceptional attention to detail
* SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid qualifications preferred
* A passion for delivering high-quality, technically advanced buildings that make a meaningful impact
* A full UK driving licence is highly desirable
