Job Overview
Support study skills delivery that enables learners to progress and achieve. Provide group sessions on key study skills topics and facilitate learning activities. Offer one‑to‑one support to learners, encouraging dialogue and developing strategies for positive outcomes. Work closely with Progress Coaches, tutors and other key staff, update reports and data, support activities within a busy library environment, and take ownership of key elements of the service. Use educational technologies to support learning and encourage staff development.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver group study skills sessions and facilitate learning activities.
* Provide one‑to‑one support to learners, developing individualized strategies.
* Collaborate with Progress Coaches, tutors, and other staff to provide feedback on learner progress.
* Maintain and update learner progress reports and data as necessary.
* Support activities within the library environment and take ownership of key service aspects.
* Utilise educational technologies and encourage staff to develop digital competencies.
Essential Requirements
* Qualified to a Level 3 or above.
* Proven experience of learner support in an educational context.
* Experience of delivering training and engaging support sessions.
* Knowledge of learning strategies and differentiation to support individual learner progress.
* Effective use of technologies to support learning.
* Strong literacy and numeracy skills at Level 2 or above.
* Proficient in MS Office, Google applications and internet use.
* Passion for empowering and enabling young people.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a strong team player, displaying energy and enthusiasm in the learning environment.
Desirable
Welsh language skills are desirable for this role. We encourage applications in Welsh.
