Overview
The Torbay Local Heritage Grants Support Officer will coordinate the successful delivery of a second series of Torbay Local Heritage Grant Awards, themed 'Artists, Writers & Musicians on the English Riviera'. This part‑time (2.5 days per week) fixed‑term (30 months) role is part of the National Lottery Heritage Fund through the Torbay Heritage Place Programme.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate the design, publicity and award of the grant scheme.
* Manage the budget for the grant awards, preparing budget reports and monitoring expenditure.
* Produce and maintain accurate records, minutes of meetings and progress reports.
* Undergo procurement processes in accordance with Council procedures.
* Ensure accurate and timely reporting to stakeholders and internal teams.
Skills
* Strong time management and ability to meet deadlines independently.
* Experience in administrative duties such as minute taking and report preparation.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office (Office 365, Teams, Project) and social media platforms.
* Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
Knowledge
* Understanding of budget setting and monitoring processes.
* Familiarity with local government operations, including procurement.
* Knowledge of history, heritage and culture and its value in place‑making.
Experience & Qualifications
* Evidence of working well as part of a team.
* Educated to A Level standard or equivalent.
* Experience with operational administrative duties such as minute taking and progress reporting.
