YHROCU Detective Constables - Regional Organised Crime Unit (RIU)

This advert is open to all officers across the 4 x Forces. Applications are invited from substantive Detective Constables and Trainee Investigators, who will have completed their two-year probationary period by the closing date of this vacancy.
YHROCU RIU is made up of highly skilled researchers and analysts dedicated to investigating and developing intelligence pertaining to serious and complex criminality.
Several vacancies have arisen within the RIU, offering a chance to become part of a new structure/team aimed at developing intelligence based around a pillar structure and threat areas. The team will work collaboratively with other capabilities within YH ROCU, four Regional Police Forces and Law Enforcement Partners to develop investigations against those causing the most harm and tackling serious and organised criminality.
We are looking for individuals who are highly motivated, proactive and effective to support and drive intelligence development. This is an exciting challenge, working across the four forces, being part of a team of people who are committed to identifying, exploiting, and developing intelligence to be dealt with in house or support the other capabilities within YHROCU.
As a Detective Constable at YHROCU you will be working with internal and external partners to gather and develop intelligence. You will work with colleagues from covert policing, as such a knowledge of covert tactics is desirable. As a proactive Detective you will be working as part of a collaborative team, consisting of researchers, analysts and IDOs. You will ensure the management of intelligence across regional units with the goal that intelligence is developed and properly disseminated on serious and organised criminality. As a Detective you will be the OIC for any investigations adopted by YHROCU Intelligence Unit. You will be responsible for identifying opportunities, creating actions and maintaining key roles.
Your role is to develop, implement and manage systems and processes to support assessing and reviewing the threat, risk and harm posed by Organised Crime Groups within the Yorkshire & Humber Region and beyond, develop and coordinate intelligence across the Region and Forces to identify threat and risk and implement processes to enrich intelligence and other information allowing effective problem solving initiatives and long term solutions where appropriate on order to disrupt organised crime and make communities safer and feel safer.
The successful candidate will have experience of investigating serious and complex crime investigations and have good communication skills.
