Role
You will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of the YSIS programme. This includes building and maintaining excellent relationships with schools to develop mutually beneficial placements and projects.
You will recruit and support student volunteers, delivering training and ensuring safeguarding requirements are met with the support of the Careers Compliance Administrator. You will have a commitment to supporting young people to achieve their potential, working with colleagues in the University’s Access and Outreach and the PGCE teams and have an interest in measuring the impact of YSIS placements. The post reports directly to the Operations Manager for the Community Engaged Learning Team.
Skills, Experience & Qualification needed
1. You will be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience
2. Knowledge of volunteer management
3. Excellent organisation and partnership building skills
4. Excellent customer service skills, engaging in a friendly and tactful manner
5. Ability to use initiative and work independently
6. A commitment to be collaborative, supporting, customer centred and to make a difference
7. A demonstrable interest in student and/or community development
8. A current knowledge of schools and the issues they face would be an advantage
