What You'll Do
* Allocate and manage workflow across the team to ensure business objectives and client expectations are consistently met without compromising risk controls.
* Oversee annual leave scheduling and absence management to maintain optimal team performance and resource availability at all times.
* Facilitate regular team huddles and meetings to foster open communication, share updates, and address any challenges or opportunities for improvement.
* Escalate service level or performance issues promptly to the Team Manager, enabling effective stakeholder communication and prioritisation of necessary changes.
* Act as the primary point of contact for escalated queries from both team members and bankers, guiding them towards suitable resolutions that balance client satisfaction with business requirements.
* Authorise critical transactions such as large payments by reviewing and approving team outputs in line with established protocols.
* Support ongoing training initiatives by developing comprehensive onboarding plans for new starters and coaching existing staff to deepen their expertise within private client lending operations.
* Champion a culture of continuous improvement by identifying areas for process enhancement and escalating suggestions that drive efficiency or quality gains.
* Represent Lending Operations at internal and external meetings, including pipeline management sessions with wider business units, ensuring departmental interests are well communicated.
What You Bring
* Experience in managing workflow and approving others work.
* Experience in coaching individuals towards business and personal goals, as well as improving performance and quality across a team.
* Excellent knowledge of operational processes and regulatory obligations processes involved in mortgage and personal lending.
* Proven ability of balancing client experience against business and operational risk.
* Comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels and representing the department at internal and external meetings.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and manage expectations.
* Good organisation (effective time management).
* Strong attention to detail.
* Analytical mind set - ability to problem solve and take ownership of creating positive outcomes.
* Passionate about providing extraordinary service to our clients and improving operational process.

* CeMap qualification and knowledge of the MCOB & CCA regulations would be advantageous.
