Role
As an IT Cloud Administrator, you will be at the forefront of our digital transformation journey. The IT Cloud Administrator role is to provide foundational support in the deployment, maintenance, and management of the Council's cloud infrastructure. This role is essential in ensuring that cloud services are reliable, secure, and aligned with the operational needs of the Council. The IT Cloud Administrator assists in monitoring cloud environments, performing routine maintenance, and supporting end users, thereby contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of cloud services that underpin critical public functions.
Responsibilities
1. Monitor and maintain cloud infrastructure, including performing regular health checks, monitoring performance metrics, and ensuring operational integrity.
2. Support the deployment and configuration of cloud-based services, assisting in the setup of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.
3. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to cloud services, collaborating closely with IT Cloud Officers and Engineers.
4. Perform routine tasks such as patch management, updates, and backups for cloud infrastructure and associated services, ensuring systems are up-to-date and secure.
5. Implement and maintain cloud security measures, including managing access controls and monitoring for security threats, in alignment with Council policies.
6. Maintain accurate documentation of cloud configurations, processes, and changes, ensuring all records are current and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
7. Provide technical support and guidance to end users and other departments, addressing cloud-related issues efficiently and effectively.
8. Assist in the automation of routine cloud management tasks through scripting and deployment tools as directed by senior team members.
