Overview

Randstad Education is actively recruiting an exceptional, proactive, and caring Learning Mentor/SEN Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term position in a respected school located in Wirral. Immediate start available.

We are looking for someone dedicated to championing the success of students with Special Educational Needs, providing foundational support and encouragement to help each pupil reach their academic and personal milestones.


Responsibilities

* Tailored Educational Support: Deliver precise, one-to-one, and small-group academic intervention tailored for students with diverse SEN profiles.
* Instructional Collaboration: Work closely with the class teacher to execute lesson plans and integrate differentiated teaching methods across the curriculum.
* Classroom Management: Support student behaviour and help maintain an orderly, constructive, and safe learning environment.
* Progress Monitoring: Keep meticulous records of students’ educational progress, behaviour patterns, and attainment against established goals.
* Pastoral Guidance: Act as a trusted guide and motivator, building strong, empathetic connections to bolster students’ social skills and emotional well-being alongside their studies.


Requirements

* Minimum six months of experience in a classroom environment, explicitly supporting students with Special Educational Needs within a UK school setting.
* Calm, resourceful, and enthusiastic temperament when addressing varied learning needs.
* Strong written and verbal communication, effective teamwork, and good organisational skills.
* Current, satisfactory Enhanced DBS check, or willingness to apply for one immediately upon offer.
* Prior exposure to therapeutic interventions or supporting conditions such as Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) or Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN) is advantageous.
