Job description
We are seeking a compassionate and engaging 1:1 Tutor to support an enthusiastic young person currently in Year 9, who is working on the Year 7 curriculum. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making learning accessible and enjoyable, especially through practical and hands-on activities 12-15 hours per week.
About the Learner:
1. Has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
2. Enjoys solving Maths problems and is a keen learner
3. Benefits from a calm, structured, and creative approach to learning
4. Requires support in English and Maths, with a focus on building confidence and core skills
As a Tutor, you will:
5. Deliver engaging 1:1 tutoring sessions in English and Maths
6. Use practical and interactive methods to support learning
7. Track progress and adapt sessions to meet evolving needs
8. Work collaboratively with parents/carers and professionals involved
About you:
9. Experience working with learners with SEN
10. Strong skills in Maths and English (KS3 level)
11. Ability to tailor lessons to the learner’s interests and preferred learning style
12. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for education
13. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
Position -1:1 Tutor
Contract or position start date – ASAP

Full time/part-time – Between 12-15 hours per week
Hours – Various/ flexible hours
Essential & Desirable Qualifications:
14. Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young people Experience of working with learners with SEN
To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:
15. Hold right to work in the UK
16. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
17. Provide references upon request
18. Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
