Support Worker - Residential Home - Royston Area Reed Education is working in partnership with a residential home supporting children and young adults with additional needs. We are seeking dedicated, compassionate, and resilient Support Workers to join a highly respected residential home providing care, guidance, and meaningful support to young adults with complex needs. for supporting young adults and helping them thrive. About the Role As a Support Worker, you will play a key and consistent role in each young person's life. This includes: Providing high-quality personal care (washing, dressing, moving & positioning, continence care, eating and drinking support) Supporting social care needs such as activities, community engagement, and peer interaction Supporting young people in day activities including school, college, skills centres, and outings Helping individuals work towards goals set in their
Individual Care Plans
and
Individual Education Plans Maintaining accurate records and helping to update care and support plans Promoting a safe, secure, and happy environment for all residents Safeguarding the wellbeing of young people and reporting concerns immediately Supporting with risk assessments, capacity assessments, and best interest decisions Ensuring individuals' spiritual, cultural, and religious needs are respected Always communicating professionally and respectfully Participating in training, supervision, and development opportunities Developing skills such as medication administration and mentoring colleagues Skills needed for the role: Strong verbal and written communication Ability to write clear and accurate records Adaptability in challenging situations Communication tailored to individual needs (including learning signs/symbols if required) Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Flexibility to meet service users' needs Role Requirements Provide personal care with dignity and respect Support individuals' preferences and independence Undertake delegated healthcare tasks (with training), including medication administration Why Join This Team?
