Location: 81 88 Whinney Hill, Durham, DH1 3BQ however applicants must be flexible to travel to other sites.
This is an outreach role, therefore applicants must be prepare to travel within the community and obtain business insurance.
Working hours: 37hours Monday - Friday 9am - 5pm
The role of the Children Young People and Family (CYPF) Worker is to support children and families with a range of issues relating to substance misuse, offering intensive and flexible support to each family with an overarching aim to achieve positive outcomes working with families and other relevant services. To support the Service Manager/Team Leader/Senior Practitioner in delivering interventions to families and manage a caseload of families. To build a relationship with each family member based on trust and respect, modelling effective communication and persistent support.
About the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen within a Children, Young People and Families Drug and Alcohol service,
You will Provide targeted and specialist interventions based on the whole family approach to children, young people, parents, carers & families who have been affected by drug or alcohol use, and specialist drug and alcohol support to young people at risk of or using substances enabling them to make informed choices and build resilience to substance use. The post holder will offer a range of evidence-based psycho-social interventions to children, young people, adults, families and carers through 1:1s, and group work across the full service.
We are searching for a candidate who is passionate, creative, enthusiastic and flexible to meet the needs of our children & young people. We want to reach out to as many young people affected by drugs and/or alcohol as we can and this role is key to achieving this ambition.
The new post holder will work as part of a team to provide collaborative recovery planning and case management to those who use or may be at risk of using drug and alcohol, or younger children impacted by family drug and alcohol use. Working across all stages of individuals journeys, from assessment and engagement through to treatment, the new post holder will work closely with educational and community partners to promote earlier identification and support for young people and families affected.

The salary advertised above demonstrates the full earning potential for this role, starting salaries will allow for pay progression within the pay band.
