Overview
This role involves working face to face with some of the most in need people in our society: Manchester's homeless community. Shared houses consist of 12 houses including 6 male houses, 2 women’s houses and 4 young persons’ houses, plus a fully accessible 12 bed mixed project for low to medium individuals experiencing homelessness. You will help residents in support sessions with universal credit, bank accounts, drug and alcohol referrals, mental health referrals, budgeting, obtaining formal ID, creating personalised support plans, listening to their concerns and needs, and helping move them on to suitable long‑term accommodation. The role also includes preparing rooms for re‑let, cleaning, checking health and safety, and reporting repairs. This is a rewarding but challenging role with opportunities for knowledge building and training.
Working hours: 35 hours per week. Contract type: 3 x Full-Time, Permanent. This role is subject to pre‑employment checks and safeguarding requirements.

Responsibilities
* Provide face‑to‑face support to residents on welfare, budgeting, ID, and access to services.
* Support residents in applying for universal credit, opening bank accounts, and referrals for drugs, alcohol, and mental health services.
* Develop and implement personalised support plans and listen to residents’ concerns and needs.
* Assist with moving residents to suitable long‑term accommodation when appropriate.
* Prepare rooms for re‑let, including cleaning, health and safety checks, and reporting repairs.
* Maintain a flexible, empathetic, and holistic approach; adapt to rapidly changing situations; work in a fast‑paced environment.
* Operate as a lone worker as required and contribute to a positive team environment.
