Finance Director
Location: Lincoln
Salary: Competitive salary & bonus & car allowance
The role of the Finance Director will be to manage all day-to-day financial processes within a growing SME, including cashflow management, foreign currency transactions, banking relationships, forecasting, and all statutory requirements. You will manage a small finance team and also oversee operations in the MD's absence. Experience in both financial and operational management, especially people management, is essential. You should be capable of managing, engaging with, and inspiring a large team within a fast-paced organization.

Key Responsibilities
* Produce monthly Management Accounts and Information, presenting findings to senior management timely and accurately.
* Conduct sales and margin analysis, highlighting areas of concern and underperformance.
* Attend weekly meetings with senior management to report on finances, sales, cash, stock, etc.
* Work with the Commercial team to prepare sales forecasts and budgets, ensuring they are incorporated into overall financial plans.
* Analyze and review sales and margin performance monthly.
* Prepare profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash budgets within 10 working days of month-end.
* Exercise tight cash control through invoicing, debt management, and forecasting, alerting the MD to potential cash flow issues.
* Maintain control over customer discounts, rebates, and commissions, ensuring alignment with budgets.
* Collaborate with product development and purchasing to forecast stock needs.
* Prepare quarterly VAT returns and review import VAT and duties monthly, ensuring timely payments.
* Ensure accurate and timely production of annual accounts and complete audit files within 4 weeks of year-end.
* Manage payroll reporting and ensure PAYE/NIC payments are made on time.
* Manage banking relationships and reporting.
* Contribute to financial strategy and business objectives through advice and guidance.
Ideal Candidate
* Degree-level education
* Qualified member of an accountancy body
* Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience
* Proven track record in Financial Director/Controller roles, with strong technical and commercial skills
