New Business Sales Manager Field Based Role - South UK PPG Refinish Distribution The Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced New Business Manager to join our sales efforts in the Commercial Transport and Light Industrial Coatings (CT&LIC) sector. The New Business Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth through our independent distribution channel, building and maintaining strong relationships with key distributors and managing the positioning of PPG products within the distributor sector. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales, or key account management within the CT & LIC industry, with good knowledge of product application and customer needs in a CT&LIC environment. Competitive starting salary with yearly pay reviews Excellent bonus structure Company car & fuel card Company benefits including generous pension contributions, private healthcare plans, staff discounts and much more Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key distributor partners Understand the distributor’s business objectives, strategies and challenges Collaborate with distributors to develop joint business plans and set sales targets Regularly review performance metrics and provide insights to improve sales and profitability Identify and pursue new business opportunities and SOW growth within existing distributor partners Become the first point of contact for distributors for new business opportunities Work with the CT&LIC Business Manager to develop a strategy to expand our footprint within distribution Develop strategies to introduce and then grow the footprint of PPG’s digital solutions within the CT sector Develop and maintain strong relationships with key distributors and their customers, understanding their needs, both commercial and technical and providing tailored solutions. Conduct regular customer visits to build rapport, address concerns, and identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling. Collaborate with commercial colleagues in the car sector where distributors are shared - one team to the customer: Provide market feedback to the management team to support product development and improvement initiatives. Prepare accurate sales forecasts and reports, providing insights and recommendations to the management team. Monitor sales performance against targets and implement corrective actions as needed. Knowledge & Skills: Proven experience in sales, key accounts or in a similar sales role within the CT&LIC industry. Strong knowledge of the CT&LIC sector, including market dynamics, customer needs, and industry trends. Technical experience, especially around products and application methods within CT&LIC Sales experience within a technically driven market sector, and of selling through distribution Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with key customers. Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth. Proficient in sales forecasting and reporting.
