Overview
We are looking for a Medicines Management Technician to work alongside our Clinical Pharmacists, supporting the Medicines Management service to the wards, including the Hampshire Orthopaedic Centre, to ensure patients receive high standards of care in the management of their medication.
Duties will include medicines reconciliation, assessment of patients\ own drugs (PODs), checking of medication for discharge and the counselling of patients. The post holder will be involved in developing and delivering enhanced medicines management services and training.
Responsibilities
* Provide Medicines Management at ward level, including medicines reconciliation and checking patients\ own medicines.
* Initiate medicine supplies and provide information and advice to patients about their medicines.
* Assist with discharges and support service improvements; work in the dispensary to maintain ACPT accreditation.
* Support development and delivery of enhanced medicines management services and training.
Requirements
* Registered pharmacy technician (GPHC registration).
* Medicines Management qualification.
* Accredited Checking Technician (ACPT) qualification.
Experience
* Essential: Current patient-facing role.
* Desirable: Previous ward-based hospital experience.
Skills
* Good attention to detail.
* Good written and verbal communication skills.
