The Role – BSL Teaching Assistant
* Full-time, long-term role starting immediately
* Support students with hearing impairments, autism, and additional SEN needs
* Provide 1:1 and small-group support, using BSL to aid communication and learning
* Assist pupils with social interaction, emotional regulation, and daily routines
* Work alongside teachers, SENCOs, and therapists to deliver tailored learning plans
* Contribute to an inclusive, engaging classroom environment where every student can thrive
Person Specification
* Degree in Psychology, Special Education, or a related subject (essential)
* Proficiency in British Sign Language (minimum Level 2 required; Level 3 preferred)
* Previous experience supporting young people with SEN (desirable but not essential)
* Empathetic, patient, and resilient, with strong communication skills
* Genuine passion for SEN education and helping vulnerable learners succeed
