As one of the largest providers of substance misuse services in England and Wales, we are excited to invite a talented Chartered Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychologist to join our newly formed Mental Health Treatment Requirement (MHTR) team. Your Role and Responsibilities
As a key member of our team, you will: Provide clinical guidance, training, and leadership to Senior Assistant and Assistant Psychologists. Utilize innovative approaches from other Turning Point MHTR services, collaborating closely with the Clinical Lead and under the supervision of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist. Oversee the systematic governance of the Leicestershire MHTR service alongside operational colleagues. Offer practical advice on evidence-based psychological interventions to colleagues and local agencies. Inspire and develop your team, focusing on psychological formulation skills and a trauma-informed approach. Manage a small caseload of service users with complex needs, providing specialist psychological assessments and therapies. Influence the strategic direction and development of the service, building strong professional links with other providers. Explore ways to continuously improve our services, integrating wider issues like housing, employment, and finances into treatment. Collaborate with our national team to develop psychological and psycho-social approaches across services. Are You the Ideal Candidate?
We are looking for someone who: Holds up-to-date registration with the Health and Social Professions Council (HCPC) as a Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychologist. Possesses a doctorate in your professional specialism and has proven experience in delivering psychological services. Has experience leading and supervising clinical staff, ideally with a background in working with substance misuse service users.
