Teacher
Overview
Rowan Education Independent School implements safeguarding protocols in all aspects of their working practices and is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and all young people. We are seeking a fully qualified and dedicated Teacher/Tutor to join our team and provide education (in a broad range of subjects) to our students, most of whom have an EHCP and may exhibit challenging behaviours and have a variety of social and emotional difficulties. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching children, possess excellent communication skills, and be passionate about educating and empowering young learners using enthusiastic and adaptive teaching methods.
Responsibilities
- Provide group and/or one-on-one teaching sessions to students
- Along with our Curriculum Lead, create individualised learning plans based on student needs
- Help students improve their academic performance in various subjects
- Utilise effective and adaptive teaching strategies to engage and motivate students --- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly
Experience
- Previous experience in teaching is essential; experience in teaching in an Alternative Provision or Independent School is desirable but not essential
- Experience working with children requiring special education support would be advantageous
* The ability and confidence to challenge learners calmy and consistently and the help identify and address their individual barriers to learning
* Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear and concise manner
