Revenues Officer – Remote Contract £26 per hour (Umbrella) 3–6 Month Ongoing Contract Monday – Friday | 9am – 5pm 36 Hours Per Week We are currently recruiting for an experienced Revenues Officer to join a busy Local Authority Revenues team on a remote contract basis. This is a great opportunity for someone with Council Tax or Local Authority revenues experience to support billing, collection and customer enquiries while helping the service meet its performance targets. Key Responsibilities Maintain and update Council Tax account records accurately within the council’s revenues system Assist with the billing and collection of Council Tax Investigate and respond to customer enquiries via phone and email Negotiate and monitor repayment arrangements in line with collection policies Process and check Council Tax refunds and account adjustments Liaise with external agencies such as DWP, employers and advice services regarding liability and recovery matters Work collaboratively with colleagues to support team KPIs and service targets Essential Experience Previous experience working in a Local Authority Revenues or Council Tax team Strong understanding of Local Taxation legislation and Council Tax processes Experience using Revenues systems (e.g. Northgate, Capita, Civica or similar) Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to manage a busy caseload and work independently in a remote environment PLEASE NOTE: All applications are monitored and shortlisted candidates will be contacted via phone call or email.
