This is a senior leadership Head of Data role with full accountability for data, BI and analytics across this Housing Association based near Sunderland.
As Head of Data, you’ll be the person who brings clarity and direction to how data is owned, governed, trusted, and used. You’ll champion not just from a technical perspective, but as a genuine business enabler that supports better decisions, stronger services, regulatory confidence, and long-term value for customers.
As part of the IT Senior Leadership Team, you’ll be business-facing and work across the organisation to understand demand, challenge priorities, and shape a clear data roadmap that aligns with wider organisational goals.
You’ll be someone who enjoys bringing together all aspects of data (governance, reporting, analytics, and delivery) into one focused and joined-up function. You’ll create trust in the data, build strong relationships across the business, and ensure investment in data actually delivers measurable outcomes rather than just more dashboards.
Overseeing both internal teams and delivery partners to lead data activity across day-to-day services and wider transformation programmes, this one is a rare, genuine leadership role covering the full suite of data.
As Head of Data, you will:
* Define and deliver the organisation’s data and BI strategy by defining the visons and creating a clear roadmap
* Lead the organisation’s entire data function, owning performance, maturity, continuous improvement, and the long-term direction of data and business intelligence services.
* Influence senior stakeholders and ensuring data investment delivers measurable operational and customer outcomes.
* Establish strong data governance, ownership, and accountability frameworks that improve trust, quality, security, and compliance across all data assets.
* Oversee the organisation’s reporting, analytics, and data platform environment across cloud and on-prem technologies.
* Build a clear data culture across the organisation
You will be an amazing applicant for this role if you have experience:
* Leading enterprise-wide data, analytics, or business intelligence functions within complex organisations.
* Defining data strategy, governance, and frameworks that improve trust, ownership, and business value from data.
* Managing modern data platforms across cloud and on-prem environments
* Leading and developing high-performing technical teams across data, BI, and platform services.
* Operating as a senior authority within large transformation programmes

The salary on offer is £76,000.
